Drinking The Role-Playing Game

Gameplay:

  1. The players gather around a table and place a beer coaster in the center. The coaster has three prompts written on one side, each representing a different genre: Horror, SciFi, and Fantasy.

  2. One player randomly selects a prompt by rolling a die, flipping a coin, or using any other method agreed upon by the players.

  3. The player who selected the prompt has 30 seconds to start telling a story based on that genre. They can set the scene, introduce characters, and describe events, but they must stop after 30 seconds.

  4. After their turn, the player flips a coin or token to determine the next storyteller. If the coin lands on heads, the player to their left continues the story. If it lands on tails, the player to their right continues the story.

  5. The next player has 30 seconds to continue the story from where the previous player left off. They can build upon the existing narrative or take the story in a new direction.

  6. The game continues in this manner, with players taking turns and flipping the coin to determine the next storyteller. If a player is unable to continue the story within 30 seconds, they are eliminated from the game.

  7. The last player remaining in the game wins. However, if no player is able to continue the story, the game moves on to the next prompt, and the remaining players continue playing until all three prompts have been used.

  8. Once all three prompts have been used, the player with the most wins (i.e., the player who remained in the game the longest) is declared the overall winner.

  9. Players are encouraged to be creative and imaginative in their storytelling, using the genre prompts as inspiration to weave interesting and engaging tales.

  10. Optional variations: Players can add additional rules or constraints to the game, such as requiring each player to use a specific word or phrase in their story, or limiting the story to a certain number of sentences. These variations can add an extra layer of challenge and fun to the game.
