Role of the Drink Master (DM)

The Drink Master leads the game, narrates scenes, draws challenge cards, and embodies foes and chaos. Your deck: Spades only (J–A for 6-pack; J–K + Jokers for 30-pack).

Encounter Deck by Pack Size

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

DM Resolution Deck

Draw from your own 1–10 Spades mini-deck for opposed challenges. Add encounter difficulty modifiers based on the card drawn (e.g., King = +3).

Jokers (Chaos Effects)

Trigger a bizarre event:

  • 1-2 : Swapped bodies

  • 3 : Time loop

  • 4-5: Beer flood

  • 6-7: Random Person loses one item

  • 8-9: Everyone loses one item

  • 10 : Cursed Items


Haunted Beer Tap – Once per session, grants power... at a price

  1. Sneaky Flask – Refills with random (often gross) fluid

  2. Drunken Mirror – Reflects everyone but you

  3. Obnoxious Jukebox Token – Forces battle music to start

  4. Empty Keg of Echoes – Repeats last lie told nearby

  5. Wig of the Were-Bartender – Transforms you into a snarky bartender on full moon

  6. Haunted Bar Stool – Moves when no one’s looking

  7. D6 of Doom – Rolls result, then breaks something

  8. Tipsy Totem – Tilts dramatically when moral ambiguity is near

  9. Tinfoil Tiara – Grants psychic protection… from nothing

Bosses (Spades)

  • A♠: Main Boss

  • J♠, Q♠: Minor Bosses

  • K♠: Curse or Debuff

Treasure (Diamonds)

  • A♦: Legendary Item

  • J♦–K♦: Unique Rewards (see below)

Healing (Hearts)

  • J♥–Q♥: Cure Light Beer (heals or buffs)

  • K♥: Full Party Heal

For Treasure and Unique Rewards - choose a category and pull a card 1-10

⚔️ Weapons & Gear (Combat and Defense)

  1. Foam-Fist Gauntlets – +1 Might on unarmed attacks

  2. Bottle-Cap Knuckles – Enemies take -1 to next roll when hit

  3. Mug of Stunning – Once per session, stagger a foe for 1 round

  4. Beer-Battered Axe – +2 vs slippery or wet foes

  5. Stale Pretzel Whip – Grants +1 Guts in combat

  6. Keg-Top Shield – Once per game, auto-block a hit

  7. Party Stick – Casts “Chug Bolt” (1d3 damage, WIT-based)

  8. Javelin of the Tap – Can be thrown once per encounter, hits for +2

  9. Coaster Chakram – Returns to you if you shout “Catch!”

  10. Stout-Spiked Bat – Deals +1 if you’re holding a drink

🛡️ Armor & Clothing

  1. Beer Can Pauldrons – +1 Guts vs intimidation

  2. Alemail – Light armor, +1 defense, clinks when you move

  3. Barback Apron – +1 to carrying capacity and charm

  4. Festival Sash – +1 WIT while dancing

  5. Bouncer’s Jacket – +1 MIGHT in bar fights

  6. Cursed Foam Cape – Grants +1 GUTS, but you always smell like a dive bar

  7. Drunkard’s Cloak – Disadvantage on stealth, but +1 to all saving throws

  8. Koozie Vest – Keep potions cold; heal an extra +1

  9. Malt-Knight Plate – +2 defense, -1 WIT due to bulk

  10. Tunic of Many Stains – Advantage on bluff checks vs commoners

🍺 Magical Drinks & Consumables

  1. Liquid Luck Lager – Auto-succeed on one check

  2. Growler of Ghost Ale – Turn intangible for 1 turn

  3. IPA of Invisibility – Invisible until you belch

  4. Wheatwine of Wisdom – +2 WIT for next encounter

  5. Red-Eye Recovery Shot – Heal 2 HP, pass out after

  6. Dubbel Vision – Clone self for 1 turn (but both slur)

  7. Keg of Courage – Grants +1 GUTS to all allies for 1 battle

  8. Ale of Animal Speak – Talk to local rodents for 1 hour

  9. Potion of Pre-Gaming – Immunity to fear effects

  10. Cure Light Beer (Can) – Heal 1d4 HP and burp loudly

💎 Treasure & Trinkets

  1. Yeast Ring of Defense – Block 1 hit per session

  2. Six-Pack of Holding – Stores any 6 items

  3. Crown of the Brew King – +1 to all CHA-based rolls

  4. Infinity Stein – Never runs dry (non-magical liquids only)

  5. Golden Bottle Opener – Opens any sealed lock once per game

  6. Dice of the Drunken Oracle – Reroll one result per session

  7. Coin Purse of Spilling – Always contains 1d4 silver—but spills on a 1

  8. Spoon of Suds – Turns soup into beer

  9. Tumbler of Tranquility – Negates one chaotic effect

  10. Coaster of Deflection – Once per day, reflect 1 ranged attack

🎭 Costumes & Apparel

  1. Pretzel Crown – +1 WIT, reroll one failed social roll

  2. Cap of the Party Bard – Reroll failed performance

  3. Drunken Monk Robes – +1 to dodge while inebriated

  4. Keg Helmet – Grants +2 defense, but -1 WIT

  5. Glitter Beer Cloak – Sparkly, grants +2 on persuasion once per day

  6. Sunglasses of the Night Shift – See in darkness, look cool

  7. Bar Towel Cape – Soak 1 magic effect or spill per session

  8. Mullet Wig of Charisma – +2 to first impression rolls

  9. Slippers of Sloshing Silence – Stealth at +1, unless tipsy

  10. Socks of Solidarity – Grant +1 GUTS to party if everyone wears silly socks

📦 Utility Items

  1. Tabletop Teleporter – Jump to nearest bar table once per session

  2. Flask of Echoes – Repeat any one word said in the last 10 mins

  3. Napkin of Note – Write a perfect forgery once

  4. Bottle Rocket Wand – Shoots firework (1d6 + chaos)

  5. Keg Compass – Always points to the nearest tavern

  6. Bar Tab Token – Redeemable for 1 favor from any bartender

  7. Cork of Sealing – Stops leaks or seals a portal

  8. Sticky Shotglass – Clings to any surface, including faces

  9. Umbrella of the Unhungover – Blocks hangover effects

  10. Boots of Spilled Regret – Leave puddles behind, but +1 speed

📘 Scrolls & Knowledge

  1. Scroll of Happy Hour – Doubles healing for next 10 minutes

  2. Tome of Taps – Grants knowledge of ancient brews (and 1 recipe)

  3. Scroll of Mixology Mayhem – Create random effect drink

  4. Drinkmaster’s Almanac – +2 WIT for identifying drinks/poisons

  5. Cursed Menu – Reading it replaces current quest with a food crawl

  6. Oath of the Keg Paladin – +1 Might, but only when defending ale

  7. Sticky Note of Recall – One-liner reminder of a forgotten NPC

  8. Map of Spilled Secrets – Shows hidden passage if soaked in booze

  9. Bar Tab Ledger of Doom – Causes debt to appear on enemies

  10. Receipts of Fate – Re-roll any item’s use—but it becomes cursed

🧪 Gimmick Items

  1. The Bottomless Pickle Jar – Always full of pickles

  2. Spicy Chip of Daring – +1 Guts, but may ignite mouth

  3. Wristband of Entry – Once per game, enter anywhere as VIP

  4. License to Spill – Ignore one accident penalty

  5. Trivia Shot Spinner – Ask a question; if correct, gain +1 stat

  6. Mini-Keg Familiar – A tiny sentient keg; gives advice (badly)

  7. Dice Tower of Destiny – Once per session, choose your result

  8. Foam Wand – Turns enemies’ weapons into pool noodles

  9. Charcuterie Shield – Grants +1 to diplomacy when food is present

  10. Beer Bong of Acceleration – Skip initiative order once

🐾 Companions & Mounts

  1. Brewhound Pup – +1 alertness; barks at danger (and snacks)

  2. The Tap Mule – Carries double loot, hates stairs

  3. Bar Fly Familiar – Annoying, but gives +1 to eavesdropping

  4. Karaoke Ghost – Possesses you once per session to sing

  5. Mini Foam Elemental – Absorbs 1 magic attack per adventure

  6. Cursed Coatrack – Follows you unless told to stay

  7. The Rum Ham – Intelligent, sarcastic, and delicious

  8. Sourdough Golem – Obeys 2 commands per day

  9. The Traveling Barrel – Wanders after party, contains surprises

  10. Bacon-Wrapped Cat – Distracts enemies, grants +1 sneak
